Our Regenerative Project Leaders.
-
Kaiārahi Kaupapa Whakaora & Kaihautū.
Samantha McGavock (Ngāi Tahu) is a regenerative project leader who brings clarity and direction to challenging, interconnected kaupapa.
She is known for turning ambiguity into action, helping people understand what matters, where they can contribute and how to move together.
Sam holds a Masters of Architecture and is both a Regenerative Practitioner and Living Futures Accredited Professional who is immersed in Te Ao Māori. She utilises these perspectives to deliver transformational projects.
Alongside project delivery, Sam contributes to industry leadership and capacity building through governance, facilitation, and advisory roles. She currently serves on the board of Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects as the Ngā Aho representative, co-facilitates a professional accreditation programme with Living Future Oceania, and serves as a member of the Auckland Urban Design Panel.
Through all aspects of her work, Sam is guided by the whakaaro, ‘Ko au te taiao, te taiao ko au’. We are not separate from the natural world, but part of it. She believes our greatest strength lies in recognising our interconnectedness, and in working together to create the conditions for all to thrive.

Tiny team right?
We get that a lot. But we’ve learned that impact isn’t about headcount. It’s about knowing when to lead, when to support, and how to bring together the right people for a particular place and purpose.
Services.

One of our superpowers is helping clients turn the seed of an idea into a viable project with a clear pathway forward.
We begin by helping clients define their purpose, vision and priorities, and shaping these into an initial project brief.
We then test the project’s viability through robust feasibility studies, develop compelling business cases and funding applications, and use what we learn to shape the delivery plan and bring together an effective, values-aligned team.
This creates a well-defined project with a clear pathway to delivery and the right foundations for success.

Projects have the potential to strengthen communities, restore relationships, regenerate ecosystems and create lasting value for generations.
Our approach combines regenerative practice with experience across architecture, engineering, construction and project management. Grounded in whole-systems thinking and informed by mātauranga Māori, we weave together people, place and process to guide projects from concept to completion with clarity and confidence.
We are known for uniting project partners around what matters most, resolving competing priorities and sustaining progress through challenges and change.
By balancing budget, programme and quality expectations alongside cultural, environmental and social aspirations, we help projects achieve both their immediate objectives and their long-term potential.
The result is projects that deliver lasting value for people and place while remaining technically robust and culturally grounded.

Mana Whenua leadership transforms projects. That's why we are deeply committed to supporting kaupapa led by marae, hapū and iwi.
We've been trusted by multiple iwi to lead and support kaupapa of significance, work that requires strong relationships, cultural understanding, strategic clarity, and care.
We help iwi work effectively together, and with others, to advance both individual and collective aspirations.
-
Strong partnerships with iwi don't happen by accident. They require trust, clarity, care, and time.
We support public sector and private clients to establish and maintain reciprocal, long-term relationships with iwi that contribute to better outcomes for communities and place.
Drawing on extensive experience, we help align priorities between different groups, and create pathways forward that honour diverse perspectives while maintaining alignment within the project.
We design and coordinate engagement that is considered, impactful and fit-for-purpose, making the best use of people's time, resources and expertise.
Our role often includes strategic advice, facilitation and leadership that keeps focus, and keeps a project moving forward with confidence.

Stories have the power to inspire action, strengthen connections and build momentum around a kaupapa.
We design and deliver communications and engagement approaches that invite people into the work, make complex ideas accessible and give communities a meaningful role in shaping and championing the projects they are part of.
We love helping projects tell their story. From celebrating milestones and capturing impact to sharing lessons learned and attracting future support, we help communicate the value a kaupapa creates for people and place.
Our approach is practical, creative and people-centred. We create thoughtful and enjoyable opportunities for people to connect with a kaupapa, building capability, strengthening relationships and fostering a sense of ownership. This can include storytelling, co-design processes, hands-on workshops and opportunities for communities to learn through doing.
The result is greater participation, stronger connections and a shared understanding of what the kaupapa can make possible.
